Lewis returned to her former school in St, Vincent and donated school supplies to over one hundred and fifty enrolled children.Each child received a book bag, pens and pencils, eraser, sharpener, pencil case, exercise book and a dictionary. She also provided some educational materials and toys donated mostly by her family and few friends to the Aunty K preschool in the village.
Lewis stated that the words of appreciation and thankfulness that she received from the parents, teachers and children thrust her in wanting to do more but she knows that she cannot do it by herself. Returning to the United States of America, Lewis sought the assistance of her family and friends hence forming a non-profit organization called “Giving Life Anew Meaning” – GLAM in short.
